Small businesses are the backbone of culture and community, and every creator deserves the opportunity to thrive without being overshadowed by mass-produced goods.
That’s why we’ve built a marketplace designed to be simple, accessible, and genuinely low-cost — so passionate entrepreneurs can focus on growing their craft instead of fighting impossible barriers.

Meet Zarina.
Before Rooted, I ran my own small candle business. I poured everything into it — and watched platform after platform take 40 to 80% of my profits, bury my listings in algorithms I had no say in, and leave me with little to show for all that work.
As a South Asian woman who spent years navigating questions of identity and self-expression, I knew this feeling wasn’t mine alone. It belonged to an entire generation of underrepresented founders being quietly taken advantage of.
During my time at UC San Diego, double majoring in Business Economics and Cognitive & Behavioral Neuroscience, I spent months studying platform algorithms and teaching myself to code and build for the web — because I wanted to understand not just how to build a marketplace, but how to build one that was genuinely fair.
